IROCO Design Japan at Salone del Mobile: Milan’s 60th Celebration of Design
The 60th edition of Salone del Mobile and the citywide Milan Design Week brought the Italian design capital to life once more, and IROCO Design Japan was there—dispatching our Tokyo team to discover the latest innovations in Designer Furniture for our clients across Asia.
With over 2,175 brands (27% of them international) and 600 emerging talents on show, Milan’s iconic furniture suppliers filled 20 trade halls and countless showrooms across the city. Salone welcomed 260,000 visitors from 173 countries, making it a global celebration of design excellence.
Highlights included Hermès’ glowing pavilions made entirely from recycled cardboard, Maruni’s new collaboration with Danish designer Cecilie Manz on the elegant En series, and Ton’s story of evolution through timeless Bentwoods and contemporary launches. Jaime Hayon brought colour and whimsy with his new hand-tufted rugs for Nanimarquina. Sustainability was a dominant theme throughout, reaffirming its central role in the future of Contract Furniture Japan.

But beyond the exhibitions, it was the conversations—between furniture designers, architects, and gallerists—that defined the week for IROCO. From intimate showrooms to bustling cafés, ideas were exchanged on how Office Furniture, Public Furniture, and Outdoor Furniture can help shape a more thoughtful, inclusive future.
As a leading Furniture Sourcing Company in Japan, IROCO continues to connect Asia with exceptional global design. Keep an eye on our upcoming collections as we introduce Milan’s finest Acoustic Furniture, sustainable designs, and timeless pieces to the Japanese market.
The world’s best design is coming home—with IROCO Design Japan.
